Hamilton Ranch Direct traditionally operated in the warehousing market for many years and decided to take a strategic decision to supply its products online direct to the consumer. The core challenge with this strategy is that they were already behind some leading brands such as Butcher box and many others. As a result, they required a robust eCommerce platform to not only provide key positioning in their market sector, but also to establish brand awareness, and compete with industry giants.

Coupled with this were complexities around freight handlers, multi-state shipping, and packing material costing and calculations based on a multitude of variants.

Strategy

The key strategy was to produce a lightweight high-performance base e-commerce platform to go to the market and integrate the solution as the market expanded and more marketing channels opened up. In addition, the system was developed to integrate with multiple sales and marketing channels to maximize return on investment.

Approach

Targeting online to gain initial momentum followed by an aggressive social approach to the market gave the system momentum to establish the brand. Next was integration with leading shopping channels including Google and Amazon. Cart abandonment strategies, remarketing, and real time communication all catapulted this solution to gain massive success in a short period of time.
